Tell us about your health

Have you ever been in hospital?
I know it is not very exciting to know about illnesses, there are people who love it!, I don't, but we can speak a little about this for the exam. So will you prepare this topic?

  • When was the last time that you were ill?
  • Did you go to your family doctor or did you go to the local Helth centre?
  • Have you been to hospital many times in your life?
  • What doctors do you visit most frequently?
  • Do you usually take medicine or do you prefer natural remedies?

Do you have any free time?

Well, some say that having some free time is a luxury, but I'm sure most of us do have some free time to enjoy ourselves and have some family life.

I would like to know how you spend your free time:

  • What you usually do
  • Who you go out with

  • What kind of activities you do together
  • If you make or fix things in your free time...
  • or if you simply sit on the sofa and sleep a siesta

Do you have any free time?

Tell us about your shopping habits

Do you like shopping in the local market on a street market or do you prefer to drive to the shopping centres around the town? We would like to know about your shopping habits, where and when you buy your food, clothes, shoes, presents or decoration.

Tell us about your family

Do you have a large or a small family?

Can you tell us alittle about it?

Say...

  • if you have a big family.

  • who you live with.

  • if the others memeber of your family live near or far away

  • who you look like in your family

  • and who you get on well with

Example:

I don't have a very large family. We are my husband, my two children and me. My children are 12 and 16 years old, they are still studying. Both go to school.

My husband and I work and my children sometimes help us at home.

We do many things together. We usually go away on holiday or go out to the countryside at the weekends. On Saturday it is sports day and we go to see my son's football matches.

I also have a brother and many sisters. But they live with their family in their own house. I get on well with everybody in my family.

We come together to celebrate birthdays or Christmas. We enjoy ourselves a lot.

My house

Well something you could tell us about is the place where you live.

Tell us about your house. Explain…

- Where it is (in the city/ in the countryside/ in a village)
- If it is a block of flats, a house, a semidetached house or a rural house
- How many rooms it has
- Which room you spend the most time in
- What kind of furniture it has
- How long you have lived in it
- If you like your house and why

Example

I live in a block of flats in the city centre. I live on the second floor. My flat is not very big. It has three rooms, a living room, two bathrooms and a kitchen. The bedrooms are small, but the living room and the kitchen are bigger.
I usually spend most of the time in the living room. In the living room there is a sofa and an armchair. There is also a chest of drawers and a big cupboard with shelves. There is also a large table with four chairs around it. The furniture in my house is not modern, but not classical either. I think it is very traditional.
I have lived in this house for twenty years now. I like it because it is sunny and very near the main services. So I don’t need a car to move around the city.

Do you like music?
If you do, why don't you tell us a little about your favourite kind of music or your favourite group?
I would like to know these aspects:
Who they are (name)
Type of music they sing or play (pop, hip-hop, salsa, melodic, baladas, etc)
Which one is their most famous song or album.
If you have been to their concerts.
How long you have heard about them.
